Kitchen cabinets

Solid wood kitchen cabinets cost more then particle board cabinets. They last a very long time and come in alot of stained or glazed colors. Their are many different cabinet specs to consider.
1. Stain or Glaze
2.Thickness of shelfs,and sides.
3.Full door overlay or face frame.
4.How are they assembled.
5. What types of hinges
I shall be discussing the above items later in this blog.

  1. Lets discuss item # 2.
    Shelfs and sides of cabinets.
Shelfs are made in different thickness and material. Always consider this when buying a cabinet. A 1/2 inch or 5/8 inch shelf will sag in the middle with items piled on it.The wider the cabinet the sooner it happens. A 3/4 shelf made from mdf will also sag. Best shelf is a 3/4 plywood.
The above remains true for cabinet sides and bottoms.
I know that the price of a cabinet determines the purchase so people choose the cheap mdf cabinet,I'm ok with that because it keeps me in business replacing them.
I came up with the name cabinets4sure when i walked into a customers house to price a set of cabinets and noticed the cabinets he had where falling off the wall ( mdf)
His cabinets were only 4 years old.I told him you need cabinets4sure.
    I love solid wood cabinets!
